Russia’s Drone Attack:‘Deliberately targeted thermal and hydroelectric power plants.’

Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenka said an airstrike warning had been issued across the country, with 10 regions coming under Russian attack.

The attack on Friday specifically targeted thermal and hydroelectric units in the middle and western regions of Ukraine, according to state-owned grid operator Ukranergo.

DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private power operator, also said three of its thermal power plants were damaged in the attack.

It announced an emergency power shutoff in the city of Odessa, leaving many areas without power.

Serhiy Lysak, local governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, said five people were injured in the attack in the area, including a five-year-old girl.

At the same time, Russia said on Friday that one person was killed and two people were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Belgorod region.

Romania said pieces of the drone were found in its territory.

Romania, a member of the NATO alliance, said it had found pieces of the drone Thursday night on the Ukrainian border and in farmland near the Danube River.

Romania’s Defense Ministry said it had also found pieces of the drone on March 28. The Ministry of National Defense has said it is investigating the incident.

However, Romania also said that the previous attacks did not indicate an attack on Romania.
