The Ukrainian military claimed that Russian forces launched major strikes in the Donbas area on Saturday but failed to capture three areas.

The Russian army is currently trying to capture Lyman and Svyrodonsk in Donsk and Popsana in Luhansk.

Arms supply weakens the possibility of a ceasefire.

Russia has made it clear that sanctions from Western countries and arms supplies to the Ukrainian military will likely weaken the ceasefire and intensify the war.

So far, more than $8 billion worth of weapons has been supplied to Ukraine. Many times more weapons than this are to be found in the coming days.

To counter Russia, about 40 countries including America, and Britain is giving arms to Ukraine.

Ukraine exploring the possibility of getting security guarantees from UNSC permanent members and China.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba said that Kyiv is studying the possibility of obtaining security guarantees from members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), including China.

In an interview with China’s state-run Xinhua News Agency, Kuleba said the Budapest memorandum on security assurances failed to guarantee Ukraine real security.

According to Kuleba, security in Europe will improve when Russia withdraws its troops from Ukraine.
