Euro cup 2021: Germany suffered a heavy suicide goal, lost to France in the first match

On Tuesday, there was a competition between two strong teams in the Euro Cup. On one side was the team of former champion Germany and on the other side the World Cup winning team France.

In this match, France beat Germany 1-0 but no goal was scored by France in the victory. In the late night match, former world champion Germany had to face defeat against France due to a suicide goal.

Returning to the German team, Mats Hummels became the villain with a suicide goal and France won the match 1–0.

Veteran defender Hamels was included in the squad for the tournament by German coach Joachim Louv, but his return was not a memorable one.

Lucas Hernandez’s cross attempted to prevent French forward Kylian Mbappe from reaching French forward Kylian Mbappe in the 20th minute.

After this, the players of both the teams made several attempts to score and two goals of France were declared off-side in the second half.

The first was done by Mbappe and the second by Karim Benzema. Meanwhile, Germany defender Antonio Rudiger was also seen biting France’s Paul Pogba, which Pogba complained to the match referee.

However, he turned down Pogba’s argument. After the defeat, German coach Louv said, ‘I cannot blame him (Mats Hummels). It was unlucky.

The ball was very fast and it was not easy to get it out.’ Karim Benzema was playing his first competitive match for France after losing to Germany in the 2014 World Cup quarter-finals.
