RJD Seeks New Vote Bank, Plans To Break BSP’s Core Voters

RJD seeks new vote bank in Bihar, plans to break BSP’s core voters. The political insurgency of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has begun in Bihar. Before the Lok Sabha elections, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav went to Lucknow to seek the support of Mayawati.

There was also talk of giving a seat to the BSP in Bihar under the coordination, but this agreement could not be reached. Now in the Bihar Assembly Election, both parties have started with enmity.

Relationships between Tejashwi and Mayawati

Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav first put an end to the RJD’s alliance with the BSP and then included its Bihar state president in his clan.

Mayawati and Tejashwi’s tense relationship is seen as an expression of the break up of the BSP’s friendship with the Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh (UP) about three months ago.

The SP, which contested the last assembly elections separately from the RJD, has given unconditional support to the RJD this time.

Bitterness may increase now

The bitterness between the BSP and the RJD may only increase further as Tejashwi has started attacking Mayawati’s foundation in Bihar after breaking the party.

While trying to make inroads into the BSP’s vote bank, the Leader of Opposition is giving preference to the group which Mayawati claims to be the most influential in ticket distribution.

RJD seeks new vote bank, eye’s BSP voters

The RJD is yet to announce the candidates for all its seats. For the first and second phase seats, out of all the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes who have been given symbols, Ravidas caste has the highest number of eight candidates.

Paswan is the candidate at number two. So far four of this caste have been symbolized by RJD. There are three candidates from Mushar and only two candidates from Pasi community. Clearly, in the eyes of RJD, the BSP’s core voters are.

In any case, Tejashwi is trying to make BSP’s presence in Bihar in his favor. Under this formula, he has given ticket to former minister and senior leader of Janata Dal-United (JDU) Ramai Ram from Bauhahan, while he was not even a member of RJD till a few days ago.

Tejashwi is not even caring about his MLAs

Mayawati’s supporters are not even caring about their sitting MLAs to satisfy the Jamaat. Rakesh MLA from Gadkha Muneshwar Chaudhary was cut from the ticket and replaced by Surendra Ram of Ravidas caste. Bhabhua, Sasaram, and Gopalganj districts bordering UP are considered fertile for BSP prospects.

Former BSP state president Bharat Bind has also been an MLA from Bhabua. Earlier, Ramchandra Yadav has also represented this seat on a BSP ticket. Bharat Bind has also been made a candidate from Bhabhua after Tejashwi joining Abki RJD.

Attempt to compensate for the lost base

There is also an attempt to maintain the old social equation of Mahagathbandhan. In RJD, the shortfall in ticket distribution due to the separation of old grand alliance partners is also being compensated.

That is why initiatives are being taken to satisfy the community of ethnic satraps. People from the community of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) Jitan Ram Manjhi and Mukesh Sahani (Mukesh Sahani) of Vikas Insan Party (VIP) are also being given preference in ticket distribution. Three candidates have been fielded from the Mushar and Sahani communities.

Policy to weaken Upendra Kushwaha too

The BSP has formed an alliance in Bihar with the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP). Both parties are fielding candidates under social co-ordination.

The RJD also realizes this, so after Ravidas in the party, the highest RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha’s claimants are being given importance. So far seven of the Kushwaha community have been given the symbol of RJD. The cycle continues even further.

Vote percentage in 2015 assembly elections

The RJD received 18.35 percent of the votes in the 2015 assembly elections. He got the maximum 80 seats out of 243 seats. At the same time, BSP got 2.07% votes. However she had failed to open her account. If the RJD succeeds in the BSP’s core vote bank, it can get some advantage in the seats.

In the last election, BJP got the maximum votes of 24.42 percent. However, she could win only 53 seats. At the same time, JDU got 16.83 percent votes and won 71 seats. The Congress got 6.66 percent of the votes and managed to win 27 seats.
