Heavy rain warnings have been issued at isolated places in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, South Gujarat region, Marathwada, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. According to IMD, due to low pressure in many places in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rains are expected in Odisha again around 20 September.

Hence, the southwest monsoon is expected to return from western Rajasthan by the end of next week. The department said that conditions are expected to be favorable for the withdrawal of monsoon in the next two days. Temperatures in the plains of North India are being recorded above normal.

Director-General of the India Meteorological Department, Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that this is one of the seasonal patterns observed when conditions are favorable for the return of the monsoon. The Moumam Department has revised the monsoon withdrawal dates this year. According to the new table, Monsoon was expected to return on September 17.

However, its withdrawal has been delayed due to a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. With the return of monsoon from West Rajasthan, the conditions for the cold are favorable. Heavy rains are expected over the next two days in many parts of Central and South India. Meteorological Department has issued an Orange alert for Saturday in Kerala, Goa, and parts of Karnataka and Maharashtra.
