Rahul Gandhi is to be questioned again today in National Herald Case.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday called Rahul Gandhi again for questioning in the National Herald case. On Monday, Rahul was questioned for about 12 hours.

He came out of the ED office late around 12 o’clock. In the last 4 days, the ED has questioned Rahul for about 42 hours. In this case, the ED will question Congress President Sonia Gandhi on June 23.

Rahul Gandhi has been questioned four times so far.

After a gap of four days, the ED again questioned former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday. A senior ED official said that the inquiry was going in the right direction.

Young India’s capture of the Associated Journal is a fit case for money laundering. In this, further action will be continued under the law. Let us tell you that so far Rahul Gandhi has been questioned four times.

He has been called again by the agency for the fifth time on June 21 for a question and answer.

Last week, after repeated questioning on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, the ED summoned Rahul Gandhi again on Friday. But Rahul had asked for Monday’s time.

After celebrating his 52nd birthday on Sunday, the Congress leader reached the ED office at 11.05 am on Monday. He was interrogated for about 12 hours.

He came out of the ED office at 12.30 midnight. He has been questioned for about 47 hours so far.

Not getting information about the questions asked to Rahul Gandhi

Being a politically sensitive matter, ED officials are not disclosing the questions asked to Rahul Gandhi and his answers. But they are calling it a fit case for money laundering.

The senior official dismissed the allegations that the FIR did not become a money laundering case without the Congress leaders.

According to him, the ED is taking legal action under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

There is a clear provision in the CrPC to register an FIR with the police or to file a complaint directly in the court for this.

In this case, Subramanian Swamy instead of registering an FIR with the police complained in court.

Even before the court, there were two ways to send the complaint to the police for investigation or to look into it on its own.

The court took the second route and issued a summons after a thorough investigation of the complaint. The accused against it went to the High Court and later to the Supreme Court.

The High Court and the Supreme Court upheld the summons of the lower court. Later all the accused including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had to take bail.

In the 2015 bail order, the court has clearly charged him under sections 420 and 120B of the IPC, which are sections listed for money laundering.

Crores of income coming from the assets of Associated Journal.

The senior ED official also rejected the argument that Young India was not registered as a non-profit company and no money laundering case was made because of no profit being made.

He said that Young India has not spent any social service since its registration.

Young India is earning crores of rupees from the rental of Associated Journal properties. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi hold 99 percent of the shares of both Young India and Associate Journal.

They would obviously have a right to the property and income of the Associate Journal. He said that the properties held by Young India from the Associated Journal were actually acquired criminally.

That is why the ED has the right to confiscate them under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
