Rafael Nadal won the second Australian Open of his career by defeating Daniil Medvedev in Melbourne on Sunday.

Nadal came back from two sets to beat Medvedev 2-6, 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 in a match that lasted five hours and 24 minutes.
This effort by Nadal is one of the best efforts to come back from a lag in tennis. Nadal is the first player since Rai Emerson in 1965 to win the Australian Open final despite losing the first two sets.
Nadal has now overtaken the race for the Big Three.
Djokovic was deported from Australia a day before the start of the Australian Open for not getting a corona vaccination, while Federer could not play due to injury.
In the absence of these two giants, Nadal was a strong contender for this title. This is the 35-year-old Nadal’s second title at the Australian Open and the first he won in 2009.
