Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi meets PM Modi, requests for talks with farmers, demands to start procurement of paddy.

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is on a visit to Delhi today. Channi also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After the meeting, Channi said that he has urged the Prime Minister to immediately start the procurement of paddy in Punjab.

The Prime Minister was also requested to initiate dialogue with the agitating farmers and resolve the dispute over the three agricultural laws.

Channi demanded from the PM to open the Kartarpur Corridor closed due to Covid.

This is his first meeting after becoming the Chief Minister. This is a courtesy visit. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s visit to Delhi comes after former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

The captain has returned after meeting Home Minister Amit Shah. It is said that Channi will also report to the party leadership on the developments in Punjab Congress.

Talking to the media after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Charanjit Singh Channi said that the procurement of paddy in Punjab starts from October 1, but this time the central government has done it on October 11.

I have requested the Prime Minister to start it now. Channi said that Prime Minister Modi assured to solve all the issues.

Chief Minister Channi said that talks were held with the Prime Minister in a good atmosphere. I requested him to end the quarrel over three agriculture bills.

The Prime Minister said that he also wants to find a solution for this. I appealed to the Prime Minister to start talks with the farmers.

Along with this, he also requested to immediately open the Kartarpur Corridor between India and Pakistan, which was closed due to Kovid, so that the devotees can go there.

Chief Minister Channi briefed the Prime Minister about the problems and issues of Punjab. He also presented a replica of Sri Darbar Sahib to the Prime Minister.

This was the first meeting of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Modi congratulated him on becoming the Chief Minister.
