Puneet Bisht broke KL Rahul’s world record, played a stormy inning of 146 runs. Meghalaya captain and wicketkeeper Puneet Bisht set a new world record by raining fours and sixes.

Bisht’s blistering 146 off a 51-ball century helped Meghalaya register a big 130-run win over Mizoram in the Plate Group match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament in Chennai on Wednesday. It has been four days since the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy started, but three players have scored a century so far.

Bisht, who played for Delhi, came out to bat at number four and blasted Mizoram’s bowling, hitting six fours and 17 sixes during his century. During his innings, he scored 126 runs with the help of only fours and sixes.

Bisht, 34, also took a big record during this period. He has now become the wicketkeeper captain making the highest personal score in T20 cricket. Before him, this record was in the name of KL Rahul. Rahul played for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL -2020 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Bisht also became the highest run-scorer in T20 cricket at number four. He broke the record of Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka. In 2016, Shanaka played an unbeaten 131 not out, batting at number four against Gaul while playing for Sinhalese Sports Club.

Bisht also came jointly at number two in terms of maximum sixes in a T20 innings. Due to this stormy innings of Bisht, Meghalaya scored 230 runs for six wickets in 20 overs after being invited to bat first.

In response, Mizoram’s team could only score 100 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs.
