The Rajasthan Congress is set to make major changes in power and organization.

In January, a two-year-old Ashok Gehlot government’s cabinet will be reshuffled and political appointments.

An executive committee from the state Congress committee to the District Congress committees, will be formed.

Preparation for Change: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is preparing to remove ministers with poor performance and induct new ones.

At the same time, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has told the Congress high command to give new people a chance in place of ministers included in the Gehlot cabinet with their quota.

Pilot has spent three days in Delhi and met Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and State General Secretary in-charge Ajay Maken.

In this meeting, the pilot presented his views on the reshuffle and political appointments in the Gehlot cabinet. Pilot is also known to have spoken to former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

During this time, Pilot has asked to replace the leaders whom he had included in the cabinet with his quota at the time of the formation of the Gehlot government, and give new names on his behalf.

Two years ago, 6 ministers were made out of the pilot quota. One of these Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Bhanwarlal Meghwal died due to illness.

Vishwendra Singh and Ramesh Meena were dismissed from the cabinet for rebelling with the pilot.

Now those who are made by the recommendation of the pilot include Mines Minister Pramod Jain, Transport Minister Pratap Singh Khachariwas and Cooperation Minister Udayalal Anjana.

All three have a distance with the pilot for the last 6 months.

According to sources close to the pilot, he has recommended the party leadership to make four other ministers besides Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena from their quota.

These include Murari Lal Meena, Ved Prakash Solanki, Ramnivas Gavadia, and Mukesh Bhakar.

According to sources, Pilot told the party leadership that if CM wants to keep Khachariwas, Anjana, and Pramod Jain in the cabinet, then keep them from your quota.

Confirming the meeting with Maken, Pilot said that there has been a discussion about power and organization. How to strengthen the party has been discussed.

Gehlot’s trusted revenue minister Harish Chaudhary also met several central leaders while the pilot was active in Delhi.

Maken will come on state tour

Before the pilot reached Delhi, State Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasara met Ajay Maken and discussed about the formation of the state executive.

Dotasara said that most senior leaders will get a chance at the post of vice-president and general secretary. Youth will be given the opportunity to work in the post of secretary.

He informed that a 5-member Discipline Committee will also be constituted. Ajay Maken will reach Jaipur on December 25 to activate state power and organization.

He will take feedback from Congress leaders and workers in Kota on 26 December.
