Giving information in this regard on Thursday, an officer said that he stopped a van at Vadpe Naka in Bhiwandi town of Thane on Monday, after which his 23-year-old driver was arrested.

An official of the Bhiwandi taluka police station said that the vehicle was going from Ahmednagar to Mumbai.

He said that a case has been registered against the driver under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Animal Protection Act on Wednesday.
