PM Modi’s 71st birthday today, take a look at the schemes brought during the tenure of the Modi government.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 71 on Friday and the BJP has planned to make the day historic.
While the party aims to set a record for maximum corona vaccination on this day, the BJP will also start a 21-day service and dedication campaign from today.
BJP is preparing to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday in a grand manner. For this, BJP has planned a 21-day nationwide campaign which has been named ‘Seva and Samarpan Abhiyan’.
PM Modi is in the third year of his second term as Prime Minister and has repeatedly emphasized the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ during his rule.
Prime Minister Modi has called for introducing inclusive, development-oriented, and corruption-free governance and has also demanded speedy decision-making.
PM Modi took oath in his second term in May 2019 after serving as the Prime Minister of India from 2014 to 2019. He is the first Prime Minister of India to be born after independence.
He was the longest-serving Chief Minister of Gujarat from October 2001 to May 2014. PM Modi’s 71st birthday is on 17 September.
Twenty days after this i.e. on October 7, 20 years ago today, PM Modi was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
He led the Bharatiya Janata Party to register victories in the 2014 and 2019 general elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won an absolute majority on both these occasions.

1. Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
Ayushman Bharat is the world’s largest healthcare program covering over 500 million Indians.
2. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
More than 35 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened as part of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana which aims to open a bank account for every Indian.
3. Apart from insurance and pension cover for the most vulnerable sections of society, the JAM Trinity (Jan Dhan-Aadhaar- Mobile) has brought transparency and speed and reduced delays and corruption.
4. Modi government has brought pension schemes for different sections. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has provided smoke-free kitchens to over 7 crore beneficiaries, the majority of whom are women.
5. Even after 70 years of independence, about 18,000 villages did not have electricity.
The government has set a target of ‘Housing for All’ by 2022 and has sought to focus on agriculture through schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Soil Health Card, e-NAM.
6. PM Modi launched the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission in 2014 and the cleanliness coverage has increased from 38 percent in 2014 to 99 percent.
7. The Modi government has sought to build the next-generation infrastructure in terms of more highways, railways, I-ways, and waterways.
The UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme has sought to boost connectivity.
8. The ‘Make in India’ initiative launched by the Prime Minister seeks to give a rapid boost to manufacturing.
9. Modi government has promoted digital transactions and has demanded not to fund through Mudra Yojana.
Big steps were taken by PM Modi
1. PM Modi is a supporter of environmental causes and India is promoting renewable energy in a big way.
As the Chief Minister of Gujarat, PM Modi created a separate Climate Change Department. India has initiated the International Solar Alliance.
2. PM Modi has also sought to bring a new approach to disaster management using the power of technology and the power of human resources.
3. In a nod to his foreign policy initiatives, PM Modi began his first term in office in the presence of all the Heads of State of SAARC nations and invited BIMSTEC leaders at the start of the second term.
4. Narendra Modi’s call to mark a day as ‘International Day of Yoga’ received an overwhelming response at the United Nations.
5. The Modi government has plans for drinking water for all, roads, broadband connectivity in every village, and education for all.
6. Various initiatives including Make in India, Digital India, Skill India, Fit India and Self-reliant India are aimed at creating a New India.
