PM Modi dedicated two national institutes to the country on Ayurveda Day, says – Ayurveda is our tradition.

PM Modi has dedicated two Ayurveda institutes on Ayurveda Day today.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the Institute of Ayurveda Teaching and Research (ITRA) in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) in Jaipur.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Narendra Modi spoke about the importance and benefits of Ayurveda in the Corona period.

Speaking on Ayurveda Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the importance of Ayurveda.

The World Health Organization, he said, is setting up the WHO Global Center on Traditional Medicine in India to strengthen research on traditional medicines.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Ayurveda is our tradition and the country benefited from the tradition of Ayurveda in the Corona period.

He said that in the Corona epidemic period, turmeric and many other things have acted as immunity boosters.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that in the Corona era, people all over the world have been talking about Ayurveda, they want to know about it.

Research is being done in the world regarding Ayurveda. PM Modi further said that the trial of the Corona vaccine is going on in the country.

Along with this, research is also going on in more than hundred places on Ayurvedic medicines.

‘India has a huge legacy of healing’

On this occasion, PM Modi spoke about the importance of Ayurveda in India.

He said that it is true that India has a great heritage related to health, but it is equally true that this knowledge has been in most of the books, in the scriptures, and a little bit in the tips of grandmother and grandmother.

It is necessary to be developed according to modern requirements. The PM said that I am confident that with our efforts, not only Ayush but our whole system of health will witness a big change.

On this occasion, PM Modi said that in the monsoon session of Parliament this year, two historic commissions have also been created –

National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, National Commission for Homeopathy. The new national education policy encourages an integration approach to medical education in India.

Inauguration of two National Ayurveda Institutes

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, both the Ayurveda Institutes inaugurated today are reputed institutes of Ayurveda in the country.

The Institute of Ayurveda Teaching and Research at Jamnagar has been conferred the status of Institute of National Importance (INI) through the law of Parliament.

While the National Institute of Ayurveda in Jaipur has been conferred the status of an honorary university by the University Grants Commission.

The Ministry of AYUSH has been celebrating Ayurveda Day every year since 2016 on the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti. This year it is on 13 November.

According to the ministry, the ITRS of Jamnagar, recently formed by the legislation of Parliament, is about to emerge as a world-class health care center.

It has 12 departments, three clinical laboratories and three research laboratories.

It is also the leader in research in the field of traditional medicine, currently 33 projects are going on here.

The ITRA is built by combining four Ayurvedic institutes of the Gujarat Ayurveda University campus. It is the first institute in the field of AYUSH to be awarded INI status.

It currently has 14 different departments. The student-teacher ratio in the institute is very good, there are 955 students and 75 teachers in 2019-20.

Degrees ranging from certificate to doctorate are given here. NIA has been a pioneer in research activities with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.
