Pentagon Criticized For Ending Cybersecurity System

Pentagon criticized for ending cyber security system, Democrats criticize.

The Pentagon proposes to end the system in which the same military officer heads the country’s two main cyber security institutions.

A senior Democrat has criticized the proposal, saying the move is worrisome amid a large-scale cyber attack on the US government system.

Adam Smith, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, has written to Acting Defense Minister Christopher Miller.

He says he has objected to the Pentagon’s way of separating the US Cyber Command from the National Security Agency.

Both agencies are currently headed by military general Paul Nakasone. A US official confirmed on Saturday that the Pentagon was preparing to separate the National Security Agency and Cyber Command.

Smith wrote in the letter that such an action could have a serious impact on our national security, particularly at a time when the US is facing the most dangerous cyber attack in the history of this country.

At the same time, the country’s cyber security agency has warned that this could pose a serious threat to government and private networks.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo said on Friday that Russia clearly has a hand behind the cyber attack.

Outgoing President Donald Trump on Saturday said without any evidence that China and not Russia could be behind the cyber attack.

Trump tweeted, ‘Cyber hack is bigger in fake news media than reality. I have been given complete information and everything is under control. ‘

In his letter to Miller, Smith said the Pentagon has not met the conditions set by the 2017 defense bill to separate the NSA from cyber command.

Smith has also sent a similar letter to General Mark A. Miley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

A spokesman for Miley, Colonel Dave Butler, said Miley has not officially reviewed or endorsed the proposal to split the two organizations.
