PDP leader Mir Mohammed Fayaz praised PM, said- Modi appears serious about the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
PDP leader Mir Mohammed Fayaz, who recently completed his term from the state of the Upper House of the Indian Parliament, has said that when PM Narendra Modi talks about the development of Jammu and Kashmir, it feels good.
He has at all times reiterated that the development of the state should be fast. He also said that PM Modi is well aware that for the last several years, the state has been completely derailed.
Now it should be expedited. As PM, he is serious about the development of the state and that is a good thing.
Would have been nice
While speaking to Dainik Jagran, he expressed his displeasure with the Center and said that some decisions were made in the center which was not in the interest of the people of the state.
He said that the government abolished Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir which was wrong. The government did not take any trust in this matter.
It would have been better if the Center could have consulted the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir this time. On 4 August 2019, other things including the internet were abruptly shut down in the state.
On 5 August 2019, the abolition of Article 370 was declared yes. Due to this decision, the people of the state felt that this decision was forcefully imposed on them.
The people of Kargil did not want to separate from Jammu and Kashmir
Talking about the division of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh into two separate union territories and the impact it would have on development there, Mir said that Ladakh, which has two districts.
One of these is Ladakh and the other is Kargil. The people of Ladakh had a long-standing demand that they are separated from Jammu and Kashmir and given the status of a Union Territory, which has now been fulfilled.
But the people of Kargil wanted to live with Jammu and Kashmir. After the partition of the state by the government, the state is suffering due to the way different shares are being given to the two, including the Jammu and Kashmir Bank, in Jammu and Kashmir House in Delhi.
Could not talk to PM in changed circumstances
Regarding the changes in Jammu and Kashmir, Mir said that the changed situation after August 2019 and then the lockdown after the Corona epidemic could not speak to PM Modi about this.
He also said that he has repeated many times in the House that he will continue to put his words before the people and the government for the good of the state and the country.
No member of Jammu and Kashmir for the third time in Rajya Sabha
Let us tell you that this is the third time in the Rajya Sabha when there is no member of Jammu and Kashmir in the House. The reason for this is the lack of assembly there.
No one can be elected to the Rajya Sabha until the Assembly elections are held there. When asked about the elections in the state, Mir said that the central government said that they would return the state status to Jammu and Kashmir once the situation is normal.
Expect elections by the end of this year
He has also said that recently the Panchayat and DDC elections have been held there which is proof that the situation is normal there. Therefore, the government should conduct elections there as soon as possible so that people can choose the government of their choice.
This will accelerate the development of Jammu and Kashmir. According to him, he will also meet the Lieutenant Governor for early elections in the state.
He himself feels that the Central Government can hold elections in Jammu and Kashmir by the end of this year.
PDP BJP formed government in Jammu and Kashmir
Let me tell you that Mir was a Rajya Sabha MP from Jammu and Kashmir. In 2014, in Jammu and Kashmir, these two parties formed a government that was broken in May 2018 after differences emerged.
After this, both the parties had made various allegations against each other. After this, the relations of both parties had also declined considerably.
These differences were further intensified with Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and the division of the state into two union territories.
Significantly, there is no representative of Jammu and Kashmir in the Rajya Sabha at this time.
The reason for this is the absence of the assembly that sends these members there. This situation has arisen due to no election since the assembly was closed here.
