No member of Jammu and Kashmir for the third time in Rajya Sabha

Let us tell you that this is the third time in the Rajya Sabha when there is no member of Jammu and Kashmir in the House. The reason for this is the lack of assembly there.

No one can be elected to the Rajya Sabha until the Assembly elections are held there. When asked about the elections in the state, Mir said that the central government said that they would return the state status to Jammu and Kashmir once the situation is normal.

Expect elections by the end of this year

He has also said that recently the Panchayat and DDC elections have been held there which is proof that the situation is normal there. Therefore, the government should conduct elections there as soon as possible so that people can choose the government of their choice.

This will accelerate the development of Jammu and Kashmir. According to him, he will also meet the Lieutenant Governor for early elections in the state.

He himself feels that the Central Government can hold elections in Jammu and Kashmir by the end of this year.

PDP BJP formed government in Jammu and Kashmir

Let me tell you that Mir was a Rajya Sabha MP from Jammu and Kashmir. In 2014, in Jammu and Kashmir, these two parties formed a government that was broken in May 2018 after differences emerged.

After this, both the parties had made various allegations against each other. After this, the relations of both parties had also declined considerably.

These differences were further intensified with Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and the division of the state into two union territories.

Significantly, there is no representative of Jammu and Kashmir in the Rajya Sabha at this time.

The reason for this is the absence of the assembly that sends these members there. This situation has arisen due to no election since the assembly was closed here.
