Pakistan Pretended To Punish Hafiz Saeed To Avoid FATF

Pakistan pretended to punish LeT Chief Hafiz Saeed to avoid FATF: Foreign journalist Sergio Rastelli.

It is actually a ploy of Pakistan to sentence the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attack and the leader of the terrorist organization LeT to 31 years of imprisonment by the Pakistan Anti-Terrorism Court.

The play has been created to evade the stringent sanctions of FATF, a global anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism watchdog.

Foreign journalist Sergio Rastelli has put this point on a logical basis in his article written in the Times of Israel.

Pakistan pretended to punish Hafiz Saeed: The country is facing a severe economic crisis.

For the past several years, Pakistan has been on the gray list of FATF (Financial Action Task Force). Pakistan is facing a severe economic crisis.

At this time Pakistan wants to get rid of the FATF restrictions by any means.

That is why in order to improve its image in front of FATF, Pakistan is pretending to punish the terrorists. Then later the higher courts will release these terrorists in all cases.

Rastelli said that Pakistan is now pretending to act on terrorists to avoid being blacklisted.

Hafiz Saeed has a free hand for the promotion of Jihad.

It is noteworthy that after the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, Pakistani courts have sentenced Hafiz Saeed and many of his terrorist associates several times in the past.

But then the higher courts of Pakistan make him free for a few days. Hafiz Saeed is a notorious terrorist who has global sanctions and is facing various investigations against him.

But Hafiz Saeed continues to live in Pakistan and has a free hand to propagate ‘Jihad’ there. He is in front of everyone’s eyes.

Hafiz Saeed has a corporate business. He also has close ties with Pakistan’s army chief and several politicians.
