Pakistan harbors terrorist groups, claims US report. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken released a report on terrorism on Thursday.

In the 2020 Country Reports on Terrorism released by the US, Pakistan has been strongly criticized for terrorism.

According to US reports, Pakistan has given shelter on its soil to terrorist groups targeting India.

Terrorist groups that have carried out many attacks in India have been operating from Pakistan itself. Pakistan has not taken strong steps in the fight against terrorism.

Pakistan harbors terrorist groups: According to the latest report on terrorism released by the US State Department.

Islamabad has not taken any action against Jaish-e-Mohammed founder and UN-designated terrorist Masood Azhar as well as other terrorists including 2008 Mumbai attack project manager Sajid Mir.

All these terrorist organizations and terrorists roam freely in Pakistan.US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in the report that terrorist groups have been operating regionally in Pakistan.

He cited reports that the Haqqani Network (HQN), an affiliate of the Afghan Taliban, is among the terror groups targeting Afghanistan.

At the same time, terrorist groups working against India include Lashkar-e-Taiba and its affiliated front organization as well as Jaish-e-Mohammed. All these are being operated from the land of Pakistan itself.

The report further claimed that in February and November, an anti-terrorism court in Lahore had convicted Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed on counts of financial aid to terrorist activities.

The court sentenced him to five years and six months to stay in jail.

At the same time, the US has acknowledged Pakistan’s contribution to the Afghanistan peace process in the report.

The report acknowledged that Pakistan made additional progress towards completing its Financial Action Task Force (FATF) action plan in 2020.

But has not completed all action plan subjects and remains on the FATF gray list as before.
