Nowgam Encounter: Two terrorists killed in Nowgam, grenade attack on CRPF bunker in Tral.

Two terrorists of Ansar Gajwatul Hind, who were trying to carry out a major attack in the summer capital, were killed by security forces in Nowgam on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, in Tral, South Kashmir, terrorists attacked a CRPF bunker with a grenade to blow it up but failed in their objective.

The Srinagar Police received information from its system after Wednesday afternoon that two to three terrorists of Asar Ghazwatul Hind, a Kashmiri terrorist organization related to Al-Qaeda, are trying to enter the city to carry out a major incident.

These terrorists are hiding at one place in Nowgam on the outskirts of the city. At the same time, the police along with 50 RR and CRPF personnel of the army launched an operation to nab these terrorists.

Nowgam Encounter: The security forces started a cordon and search, marking the suspected hideouts of terrorists in Nowgam.

Around 7.30 pm, when the soldiers were moving in a locality, the terrorists hiding there opened fire on them. The security forces retaliated by rescuing themselves and the encounter started.

The concerned police officials said that the terrorists were given full opportunity to surrender, but they refused to do so and continued firing.

The firing from the terrorists completely stopped around 9 o’clock at the night and after that, the security forces searched the encounter site.

They found the bodies of two terrorists riddled with bullets there.

They have been identified as Shahid Ahmed alias Abu Hamza resident of Malpura Chadoora Budgam and Ejaz Rasool Najar resident of Karimabad Pulwama.

Both the slain terrorists were also involved in the attack on Munir ul Islam, a laborer from Bengal in Neva Pulwama on 2 September.

The security forces were continuing the cordon and search of the encounter site till the filing of this news late in the night.

Security forces are apprehensive of one or two more terrorists hiding there.

Meanwhile, according to information received from Pulwama in South Kashmir, at around 6.15 pm today, terrorists attacked a CRPF bunker in Tral with a grenade to blow it up.

The grenade fell on the road a short distance from the bunker and exploded with a loud bang. There was no damage in this attack.

To nab, the terrorists involved in the grenade attack, a joint task force of police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the entire area, but till late at night there was no success
