NIA investigation in Manipur: AFSPA Enforced After Manipur Protests; NIA Takes Charge

NIA investigation in Manipur: Union Home Minister Amit Shah directs impartial NIA probes into three Manipur violence cases, including a terrorist attack and heinous crimes against women. NIA started an investigation of these three cases related to violence in Manipur, Shah ordered immediate action. NIA investigation in Manipur: AFSPA had to be implemented in five districts

After these terrorist attacks, violent protests started in Manipur, to deal with this the central government had to send seven thousand additional central paramilitary forces and also implement AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Power Act) in five districts.

The NIA team has visited the spot

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had announced to get these cases investigated impartially by NIA and give severe punishment to the culprits. According to the official statement released on Tuesday, FIR was registered in these cases on November 13 and the NIA team also visited the spot on November 21-22. Along with this, the work of collecting documents related to these cases is going on.

First case: It is about the gang rape and murder of a 31-year-old woman by terrorists on November 7. The mother of three children was burnt alive by the terrorists after rape.

Second case: It is about the terrorist attack on the CRPF camp on November 11. A jawan was injured in the firing and later in the search, the bodies of eight terrorists along with a large amount of ammunition were recovered.

Third case: It is related to firing on the police station and setting houses on fire by terrorists, in which two people were burnt to death. Later, the bodies of three women and three children kidnapped by the terrorists were recovered.

NIA investigation in Manipur: Women took out a protest rally in Manipur

Let us tell you that thousands of women took out a rally against AFSPA on Monday, calling the curfew order wrong in the Imphal East district of Manipur. They are demanding the removal of the Armed Forces Special Act (AFSPA) 1958 from the state. The central government has recently implemented AFSPA in six police station areas of the state.

The women’s rally which started from Kongba market was stopped by the security force squad at a distance of just one kilometer from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. From here the protesting women returned to Kongba to hold a meeting. In the same district, two active members of the banned militant organization United Liberation Front (Pambai group) have been arrested on charges of being involved in extortion.
