After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India is conducting large-scale naval exercises in the Arabian Sea near the Gujarat coast from 30 April to 3 May, from a security point of view. Warships have been maintained on high alert for any odd behavior throughout this time.

Recently, the Indian Navy successfully proved its readiness for long-range precision attacks by firing several anti-ship missiles from its warships. Now the Indian Navy is engaged in many types of exercises, which include missile firing and war exercises.

More exercises to be held in the coming days

According to official sources, many more demonstrations and exercises are planned in the coming days. The Indian Coast Guard has also deployed ships near the international maritime border off the Gujarat coast and is working together with the Navy to increase surveillance.

An Indian Navy spokesperson on social media platform X said that the firing during the exercise was done to validate and demonstrate the readiness of the platforms, systems and crew for long-range precision offensive strikes.

Navy deployed warships in the Arabian Sea

The Indian Navy has deployed warships in the Arabian Sea and the main objective of this exercise was to demonstrate the Navy’s readiness during war and its ability to protect India’s maritime interests.

Earlier, Indian Navy warship INS Surat successfully test-fired the Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MR-SAM) air defense missile system in the Arabian Sea. The test came ahead of the scheduled surface-to-surface missile test by the Pakistan Navy in the Arabian Sea.

INS Surat’s exercise was successful

When it comes to surface-to-surface missiles and other airborne targets, MR-SAM is very effective.

“Indian Navy’s new indigenously developed missile destroyer INS Surat successfully carried out precision strike exercise on target at sea, marking another milestone in strengthening our defence capabilities,” the Indian Navy wrote on X.
