Modi government corrected all historical mistakes: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Sardar Patel did not get due respect for years.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that for years there were deliberate efforts that did not give all the eminent freedom fighters their due respect.

These include Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who were not given due recognition, respect, and importance earlier.

Inaugurating all the projects here, Shah said that Andaman and Nicobar Islands should be a pilgrimage center for the national freedom movement.

The youth of the country should know how painful the punishment of black water was given to revolutionaries. This place is very important for patriots.

Netaji had hoisted the tricolor for the first time in 1943 at this place and kept it free from British rule for two years till 1945.

Despite this, personalities like Netaji and Patel did not get their due respect and all this was done deliberately.

The Home Minister said that the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tried to rectify these mistakes and under this, a huge statue of Sardar Patel has been installed in Gujarat.

Similarly, the BJP government has announced to celebrate 23 January (birth date of Subhas Chandra Bose) as Parakram Diwas.

Bridge named after Netaji was inaugurated.

Shah said 14 projects worth Rs 299 crore have been inaugurated in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, while the foundation stone for 12 projects worth Rs 643 crore has been laid.

He said that the bridge which has been inaugurated has been named Azad Hadd Fauj Bridge. Netaji had traveled about 35 thousand kilometers all over the world for the independence of India.

Mount Harriet (where Maharaja Kulchandra Dhwaja Singh of Manipur and 22 other freedom fighters were imprisoned) is named Mount Manipur in his honor.
