Indian Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane attended the Ahmedabad Design Week program on Saturday.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the program, he said that the future of the defense and aerospace sector is ‘electric’ and ‘miniaturization’.

This three-day-long design week is being organized at Karnavati University, Ahmedabad.

General Naravane stressed the importance of electronic items and said that we have to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels as well as reduce the size of ships and aircraft.

By giving more facilities in small spaces, we can make full use of them. On the future of design and innovation in the defense and aerospace sector, he said that we need to focus mainly on two things.

The first is that the time to come is of electronic things.

The Chief of Army Staff said that apart from Electric Vehicles (EVs), for which the Center has made a clear roadmap. Emphasis has been placed on using ‘electric-based things’ in it.

So that we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels to a great extent.

Referring to the border areas of the country, the General said that thousands of generators have been kept there due to a lack of electricity facilities.

Those fuels such as diesel run on petrol, transportation is needed to transport this fuel to those areas.

The cost of generating one unit of electricity in border areas is up to a normal 15 percent higher, he said.

He questioned that we need to find alternative routes for all those areas where there is a problem of power generation. So that we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
