On ordering a passport cover by a person in Kerala’s Wayanad district, e-commerce company Amazon sent someone else’s passport to him.

Midhun Babu, a resident of Kaniyambetta in Wayanad district, said he had ordered the passport cover on Amazon on October 30.

When it was delivered on November 1, I was surprised to open the packet. It had a passport cover as well as someone else’s passport.

Babu said he reported the incident to Amazon customer care, but what to do with the passport. He failed to get a proper response in this regard.

He told the news agency, ‘I spoke to three customer care officials for about 40 minutes. But no one told me what to do with an important document like a passport.

Later, on the advice of a friend of mine, I approached the police and surrendered the passport.

According to the news agency, there was no immediate response from Amazon regarding this. Recently this interesting incident went viral on social media.

The case dates back to mid-October. A minor boy’s father ordered a passport cover on Amazon. However, he did not find the pouch suitable for use.

After that, he returned it. During this, he forgot to remove the passport from it before returning the cover to Amazon. It is believed that the company delivered the pouch to another without checking it.

Babu said that as there was no proper response from Amazon regarding the passport, he handed it over to the Meenangadi police station.

He also informed the family of the passport holder. The minor boy who has this passport will have to go to the police station along with his parents to get it back. Police have not commented on the incident.
