Major conspiracy of terrorists in Srinagar failed, bunkers were built in the park to hide; exposed after search. Security forces destroyed a bunker-like hideout of terrorists in Dachigam National Park adjacent to Srinagar. Security forces are continuing the operation to catch the terrorists using this hideout.
The help of sniffer dogs and drones is also being taken in this operation. Police had come to know from its system that there are activities of terrorists in the forest near Pahlipora in the upper part of Dachigam National Park.
On this basis, the SOG of the police along with the 50 RR of the Army launched an operation to catch the terrorists. During this, the soldiers discovered a bunker-like hideout built by the terrorists in the forest. It was built by digging the ground among dense trees, where there are some rocks as well. Blankets, ration, cylinders and other items have been found from the terrorist hideout.
Sources said that the soldiers destroyed the terrorist hideout after searching it so that no one could use it again. They said that the terrorists had fled before the soldiers could reach them. They may have got wind of the search operation. The soldiers have continued the search operation based on the possibility of the terrorists hiding in the forest nearby.
Meanwhile, in Rajouri, on Thursday night, terrorists launched a grenade attack on the vehicle of the police personnel patrolling in the Maniyaal Gali area of Thanna Mandi tehsil. Due to missing the target, the grenade exploded a few meters away from the vehicle, which did not cause any damage.
Since this incident, the army and police personnel have surrounded the entire area and continued the search operation, but till now the security forces have not got any success in this operation.
Meanwhile, in Anantnag district, the police tightened its grip against drug smugglers and seized properties worth Rs 75 lakh of two smugglers of the district. Both smugglers Tariq Ahmed Lone and Gulzar Ahmed Rather are residents of the Anantnag district.
According to the police, Tariq Lone’s cement plant and one kanal of land have been confiscated. The value of this property has been estimated at Rs 60 lakh. Two shops of accused Gulzar have been sealed. Their value is Rs 15 lakh. According to the police, both the smugglers were already caught by the police and both are in jail.
