Madras HC Allowed The Awareness Campaign For Ram Mandir: Instructions to Commissioner of Police.

The High Court has directed the Commissioner of Police of Madurai to consider allowing an awareness campaign for the Sri Ram temple through Madurai in and around Madurai.

This order was passed on 19 February by a bench of Justice R Hemlata, by Accepting District Convenor of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust N. Selvakumar’s plea.

The epidemic was not allowed.

Selvakumar wants to conduct awareness campaigns in and around Madurai via vans to build the Shri Ram temple.

He applied in the office of Assistant Commissioner of Police for this permission, but the petition was rejected on 18 February citing the Corona epidemic and law and order.

The petitioner gave this argument.

The petitioner said that when the government, various political and social organizations are allowed to conduct conferences and public meetings, how can they be denied. Not only this, but the police have also stopped his van.

On the other hand, the government counsel argued that Madurai does not have all hundred wards under the jurisdiction of the Assistant Commissioner of Police.

He is not authorized to grant permission. The petitioner should have sought permission from the Commissioner of Police of Madurai.

The police commissioner’s step is not right.

After the hearing, the court said that the action of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, in this case, does not seem right.

The court said that exemption is being increased every week, for example, the cap on the one-day flight has also been lifted. In such a situation, it is not right to deny permission by citing Corona.

Hardcourt comment on police administration.

The Madras High Court held that when people are allowed to visit picture halls, malls, and other public places with security measures such as masks and sanitizers.

Then the rational basis for not allowing awareness campaigns through vans for the Sri Ram temple is under watch don’t know It is also not clear how this can cause law and order problems.
