A senior scientist of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) claimed on Tuesday that he was poisoned three years ago.

Tapan Mishra, former director of ISRO’s Ahmedabad-based Space Application Center, claimed that on May 23, 2017, he was poisoned with deadly arsenic trioxide.

He was given this poison for breakfast during a promotional interview at ISRO headquarters.

Mishra is currently working as Senior Advisor at ISRO. He is retiring later this month.

In a Facebook post titled ‘Long Kept Secret’, Mishra claimed that in July 2017, a person with security for home affairs alerted him about poisoning and also helped doctors in his treatment.

Mishra said that after this his health started deteriorating. He had difficulty in breathing. He developed a severe skin disease.

His hands and toes began to crush the nails. He has also posted pictures of his hands and feet on Facebook.

Also, to reduce the effect of poison in AIIMS, Delhi has also put a prescription for treatment.

He said that to remove a scientist from work perhaps of military and commercial importance, an attempt was made to kill him by poisoning him.

He wants the government to investigate the matter. However, there is no response from ISRO on Mishra’s claims.
