Lakshadweep Administration Will Set Up Paramedical College

Lakshadweep administration will set up a paramedical college in Kavaratti with, emphasis on health services and employment.

Taking a step towards improving the health services of the Union Territory, the Lakshadweep Administration has announced the establishment of a Paramedical College at Kavaratti.

According to a statement issued by the island administration on Wednesday.

‘Lakshadweep administration is soon going to set up a paramedical college in the capital Kavaratti, taking forward the Skill India mission.

On Administrator Praful K Patel’s guidelines, the Health Services Department has also obtained affiliation for conducting five paramedical courses.

These are  Medical Laboratory Technique, Diploma in X-ray Technique and Operation Theater Technique, Certificate in Eye Assistant, and CT Scan Technician.

These courses will be conducted with the affiliation of Bharat Sevak Samaj (BSS). BSS is working in this field for the last five decades.

The administration said that its objective is to create a pool of skilled human resources along with the overall development of health services of the state.

This will also create employment opportunities for the local people. At the same time, Lakshadweep is in a lot of discussions recently. The reason is Patel, the new administrator.

Let us inform you that Praful Khoda Patel was appointed as the administrator of Lakshadweep in December 2020.

He has faced opposition within Lakshadweep and the neighboring state of Kerala. He is facing opposition to his policies.

Health Minister orders probe into the suicide of Kerala’s first transgender radio jockey.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George has asked the Director of Health Department to conduct an urgent inquiry into the suicide of Ananya Kumari Alex.

Kerala’s first transgender radio jockey and the first transgender to file nomination as a candidate in the recent state assembly elections.

The transgender organization has also lodged a complaint in this regard.

George said an expert committee would be set up to study the issues related to gender reassignment surgery.

Let us inform you that 28-year-old Ananya Kumari Alex was found hanging in her flat in Kochi yesterday.

A few weeks ago, Ananya had alleged that she was facing serious health issues after a gender reassignment surgery performed in June last year.

He had leveled allegations against a doctor and a private hospital.
