The joint anti-terror operation is being carried out by personnel from the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and the Special Operations Group (SOG). According to an update shared by the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps on social media, heavy exchange of fire continued throughout the night. The troops maintained a strict cordon in the region to prevent the militants from escaping, responding swiftly to enemy fire.

Kulgam Terror Encounter: Identity of One Terrorist Confirmed

Security forces have confirmed the identity of one of the slain terrorists as Haris Nazir Dar, a resident of Rajpora in Pulwama district. During the search operation, forces recovered an AK-47 rifle, magazines, grenades, and other arms and ammunition from the site.

Similar Incident on July 30 in Poonch Sector

In a related development, a terrorist was also gunned down on July 30 near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector. According to the Army’s White Knight Corps, troops had noticed suspicious movement of two individuals close to the border fence. When challenged, the suspects opened fire, prompting a retaliatory response by the soldiers, which led to the killing of one terrorist.
