82% vote share, third term in 37 years: Know why minister Harsh Sanghvi is the rising leader of Gujarat BJP?

Harsh, who is running for a third term, won 82% of the vote from Majura in the 2022 Gujarat parliamentary elections.

In 2012, at the age of 27, he debuted as the youngest MLA from Majura as an activist for Bharatiya Janata Yuba Morcha. MoS (Home) Harsh Shankhvi was able to prove his “political competence”.

He won the Gujarat Assembly elections by a margin of 1.16 lakh.

Harsh is one of the youth leaders who rose from BJP national leader Yuva Morcha in 2010. He worked in the National BJYM with Union Minister Anurag Thakur.

His LinkedIn profile says that Sanghvi, who comes from a family of diamond dealers, soon opted for public service. “Harsh Sanghvi entered the world of politics at the young age of 15 as a social worker,”

As Minister of State (Home), Sanghvi`s tenure has been remarkable, with the state’s law and order being in top condition and no major communal incidents taking place.

Gujarat Election 2022: Most of the defector leaders of Congress won on the BJP ticket

Most of the congress turncoats have joined Bharatiya Janata Party which won the Gujarat National Assembly elections in 2022.

Apart from Hardik Patel, the BJP also has the son of a former MP as well as 12 former members of the Congress party. Out of these 14, all but 3 won the election.

However, there are some exceptions. Former MP Harshad Ribadia, who joined the BJP, was defeated by Bhupendra Bhayani of Visawadar’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Jawahar Chavda, who resigned from Parliamentary MLA in March 2019 and won a follow-up poll on the BJP ticket, lost to Arvind Ladani in Parliament by a margin of nearly 3,000 votes.

BJP won here.

At the same time, Congressman Imran Khedawala is the only Muslim candidate elected in the recently concluded Gujarat parliamentary elections, which saw 182 members competing and winning a landslide victory for the ruling BJP.

The previous Congress had three Muslim MLAs, all from Congress.

Khedawala, an incumbent MLA Member of Parliament for the Jamalpur-Khadia constituency of Ahmedabad City, retained her seat, winning the election by a margin of 13,658.
