‘Harita Booth’ was set up across the state during the second phase of local body elections held on Thursday in Kerala. A message about the environment was made through these booths.

Polls were held for 8116 wards in 451 local bodies in Kottayam Ernakulam Thrissur Palakkad and Wayanad. 12643 polling stations were set up for voting.

Webcasting also took place in 473 sensitive polling stations. A total of 63,187 personnel were deployed for election duty. Voting began at 7 am and lasted till 6 pm.

Explain that there are 2,045 wards in 111 local bodies in Ernakulam district. It includes Kochi Corporation. There are 3,132 polling stations in the district.

There are 272 sensitive booths. 15,660 personnel were deployed for election duty in the district.

Final Turn of voting on 14 December.

Explain that there are three-phase elections in the state. In the first phase, 72.7 percent voters cast their votes. The final phase will be held on December 14.

Votes will be counted on 16 December. In the first phase of elections, voting took place in five districts on Tuesday. Thiruvananthapuram polled 69.76 percent during this period.

Kollam recorded 73.41 percent polling, Pathanamthitta 69.70 percent polling, Alappuzha 77.23 percent polling and Idukki 74.56 percent polling.

In Kollam Corporation, the turnout was 59.73 percent, while in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, 66.06 percent voters cast their votes.
