Kerala Assembly Session: The power of the Governor will be curbed in Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan government will introduce 12 bills.

The matter of the ongoing confrontation between Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has now reached the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

According to the news agency, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will introduce a new bill in the Kerala Assembly on Wednesday, aimed at curtailing the powers of the Kerala Governor.

Significantly, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan refused to sign 11 ordinances of the Kerala government. At the same time, after the lapse of these bills, 12 bills will be introduced in the assembly in this session.

It is being told that bills related to reducing the powers of the governor will be introduced in the assembly.

Let us tell you that the ordinances which the governor refused to sign those ordinances also included important ordinances like Lokayukta Amendment Bill.

The state government has termed this move of the governor as politically motivated.

Arif Mohammad Khan accuses Gopinath Raveendran.

At the same time, while criticizing Kannur University Vice-Chancellor Gopinath Raveendran, the governor called him a ‘criminal’ working for the CPI(M) cadre.

Let us tell you that a few days ago, while talking to reporters, Khan told, that Gopinath Raveendran was involved in a conspiracy to physically hurt him. Khan said, ‘He is a criminal.

He is sitting as the Vice Chancellor for political reasons. I was invited there by the Vice Chancellor. What was his duty when I was attacked? Shouldn’t they have reported to the police? They didn’t do that.’

A few days ago, questions were raised over the appointment of Priya Varghese, wife of KK Rajesh, private secretary to CM Pinarayi Vijayan, to the post of Associate Professor in the Department of Malayalam at Kannur University.

After the matter escalated, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan stayed the appointment of Priya Varghese with immediate effect till further orders.
