Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday said that the state government will introduce a new employment policy and self-assessment property tax system for industries in the state.

The Chief Minister, in his address at the conference of state and district level commerce and industrial associations, said that the state government is coming up with a new employment policy to increase employment opportunities for youth and women.

Bommai said, “A silent revolution is taking place in the state. The government is encouraging the setting up of hi-tech industries in Tier-II cities.

Industrial unions should work with the government to improve the ease of doing business.

The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) should take corporate social responsibility.

The Chief Minister said that the matter of property tax had come to his notice and immediate action would be taken to resolve it.

He assured that complaints related to Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Bengaluru would also be discussed.

The Chief Minister called upon the industrialists to take advantage of the immense opportunities for technology-based industries in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

He said that there is a lot of talent in these places and FKCCI should take the leak in this regard.
Bommai said, “Mega textile parks are coming up in Kalaburagi and Vijayapura.

A pharmaceutical hub is being set up at Yadagiri.

The Mumbai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor will see the huge industrialization of Tumakuru, Chitradurga, Haveri, Dharwad, and Belagavi.

He said that ease of doing business has become easier with the implementation of the new industrial policy.

A state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing unit is being set up in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the state is also a leader in renewable energy. Because it produces 43 percent of the total production of the country.
