Karnataka government will ban ‘love jihad’ at any cost. Karnataka Minister R Ashok on Wednesday threatened to impose a ban on Love Jihad and jailed those involved.

He said, ‘The state government will ban Love Jihad at any cost. We will punish those involved in this. They will be kept in Central Jail. Who is Siddaramaiah opposing it, are they running the government.

It is the BJP government which is in power. While the Karnataka High Court has also ruled during the hearing of such a case that it is a fundamental right of the people to marry their choice.

In fact, on Tuesday, Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah said that if the state government tries to bring a law against ‘Love Jihad’ and cow slaughter in the upcoming winter session, the Congress will oppose it.

Explain that the term ‘love jihad’ is used by Muslims for a campaign allegedly forcibly converting Hindu girls under the guise of love.

Last month, the state’s Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa denied the government’s consent to Love Jihad and also said to take strict measures to curb it.

According to the recently enacted law in Uttar Pradesh, the Love Jihad case will be considered as an illegal conversion and the convicts involved will be sentenced to 5 to 10 years.
