Joe Root scored the 26th century in Test cricket, completed 10,000 Test runs, and broke Cook’s record: Joe Root century.

Former Test captain and middle-order batsman of the England cricket team, Joe Root scored a century for his team in the first test match against New Zealand.

This was the 26th century of Joe Root’s Test career as well as he completed his 10,000 runs in Test cricket.

Root became the 14th batsman in the world to score ten thousand runs in Test, while he became the second batsman from England to complete ten thousand runs in Test cricket.

The first ten thousand runs in Test cricket from England were touched by Alastair Cook.

Joe Root achieved the distinction of becoming the batsman to complete ten thousand runs in Test cricket in the shortest innings for England. Earlier this record was recorded in the name of Cook.

Cook had completed his 10,000 runs in 229 innings, while Root did this feat in the 218th Test innings and left Cook behind. Joe Root completed his 10,000 runs in the 118th Test match of his Test career.

Joe Root, facing 157 balls in the second innings of this match against New Zealand, completed the 26th century of his Test career. During his century innings, he hit a total of 9 fours.
