Jammu Kashmir Apni Party: Bukhari met PM, raised issues including restoring state status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Chief Altaf Bukhari met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raised issues of restoring statehood in Jammu and Kashmir, restoring 4G mobile internet service, the honorable return of Kashmiri displaced Pandits, rising unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir.
Altaf Bukhari met the Prime Minister on Sunday evening in New Delhi. He also submitted a memorandum regarding the demands. Bukhari urged the Prime Minister that there should no longer be any delay in restoring the state status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Raising the issue of employment for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, he said that a comprehensive employment package should be announced. Age limit should be relaxed for Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service.
Relaxation in the age limit should not be done once but in view of the difficulties of the youth. Bukhari said that there is a need to restore the Four G Mobile Internet service in Jammu and Kashmir without delay. This is harming the youth and the business class.
Emphasizing the respectable return of the Kashmiri migrants, the Kashmiri displaced Pandits should be rehabilitated with the majority community in Kashmir and separate settlements should not be established for them.
He raised the issue of constructing community bunkers in the border areas besides developing the crumbling condition of Jammu Srinagar National Highway, Mughal Road, Kishtwar-Sinthan routes.
6 out of 20 seats of DDC Chairperson reserved for women
The State Election Commissioner on Monday issued orders to reserve the chairperson’s seats in the District Development Council (DDC). Of the total twenty posts, six seats have been reserved for women.
Of these, one seat is reserved for Scheduled Tribe women, while two seats have been reserved for Scheduled Castes and two for Scheduled Tribes.
According to the notification issued by the Election Commission, the posts of chairpersons have been reserved only on the basis of the population of scheduled castes and tribes.
If anyone has objections to the prescribed reserved chairperson posts, then they can contact the commission by 30 January.
