India & US relations will further expand in Biden administration: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday exuded confidence that relations between India & US would be wider during the Biden administration.

Jaishankar said that Biden was a part of the radical change in relations between the two countries. Jaishankar said, ‘We have worked with him as the Vice President.

I was India’s ambassador to the US at the last time of the Obama administration. We have known him ever since he was a member and then chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee.

The foreign minister was speaking at an online discussion organized by the think tank Gateway House. He said that Biden is not oblivious to the relations between India or the two countries.

He said, ‘I am confident that we will take it forward from where we left the relationship. This has happened in the last four governments.

Peace on the border is necessary for progress in India-China relations

Jaishankar gave a clear message to China that peace will prevail along the border, only then relations between the two countries will progress.

Describing the ongoing tension with China in eastern Ladakh for the past six months as a cause for concern, the foreign minister said efforts were underway to resolve the dispute.

Jaishankar said that if he gets upset, it cannot happen that if the foundation of the house is torn or broken and the rest of the structure remains the same.

I think we are going through a tense relationship with China. He said that my hope is that people at that end of the relationship understand the seriousness of what has happened.

The Foreign Minister also referred to a number of agreements which were signed by the two countries to ensure peace and tranquility along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
