Jaishankar will also hold bilateral talks with foreign ministers of Australia and the US.

Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Tokyo on Tuesday. The two leaders have arrived here to attend the quad countries’ meeting. Regarding the meeting.

The Indian Foreign Minister said, I am happy with the progress between the two countries in various fields and we will work together for stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.

Earlier, the US State Department had given information that the Indian and US foreign ministers would meet in Tokyo.

Foreign ministers of the four quad countries have reached Tokyo, Japan, Australia, the US, and India. Let it be said that this is the first meeting of the quad countries after the tension created between the two countries after China attempted to enter India by infiltrating the border.

According to the US State Department, Pompeo will also meet with Japan’s new Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi during his visit.

The US Embassy in Tokyo said that the foreign ministers of the four countries would discuss the challenges, security, and economic issues in the Indo-Pacific region due to COVID-19 and the importance of maintaining a rules-based international system.

These leaders will discuss the need to increase cooperation to meet the various challenges posed by the global system and pandemic post-COVID-19.

They will also discuss regional issues and the need to maintain an independent, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific. At the same time, the Indian Foreign Ministry had said that Jaishankar would also hold bilateral talks with the foreign ministers of Australia and America.
