Jagdeep Dhankhar Became The 14th Vice President Of India

Jagdeep Dhankhar became the 14th Vice President of the country, President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath: Jagdeep Dhankhar Vice President.

Jagdeep Dhankhar took oath as the Vice President of India today.

President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to the elected Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Jagdeep Dhankhar paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat today before taking the oath of office. Dhankhar became the 14th Vice President as soon as he was sworn in.

Won the election by defeating Margaret Alva.

Dhankhar was elected as the Vice President on 6 August. She won the election by defeating Margaret Alva of the opposition. Dhankhar had secured 74.36 percent votes.

Let us tell you that if we look at the last six vice-presidential elections held since 1997, they have the highest victory margin.

Dhankhar was born in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.

Born on 18 May 1951 in a farmer family in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, Dhankhar completed his schooling at Sainik School, Chittorgarh.

After completing his graduation in Physics, he pursued LLB from Rajasthan University.

Dhankhar, 71, has practiced in both the Rajasthan High Court and the Supreme Court of India.

He entered politics after being elected MP from Jhunjhunu on a Janata Dal ticket in the 1989 Lok Sabha elections. He also served as the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs in 1990.

His politics was initially influenced by former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal.

Significantly, the Vice President is also the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. Along with Dhankhar’s election as Vice President, the presiding officers of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be from Rajasthan.
