ISIS attack in eastern Iraq, three Iraqi soldiers killed. Three Iraqi soldiers have been killed in an attack by the Islamic State group in eastern Iraq.

A local security source said three Iraqi soldiers were killed and two others wounded in attacks by militants of the extremist Islamic State (IS) group in Iraq’s eastern province of Diyala.

Iraqi army posts are located in the Udim region, about 60 km north of the provincial capital Bakuba, Xinhua news agency reported.

Mohamed al-Obaidi, of local tribal militias, said three soldiers were killed and two others were wounded in the attacks.

General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said: ‘The fall of the Afghan army was very rapid, which was very unexpected for everyone.’

Milley further warned that a civil war could develop in Afghanistan in the future following the withdrawal of US troops.
