He has suffered a right knee injury due to which he will not be part of the team for the remaining matches. It has been told by the BCCI that the medical team is keeping an eye on his injury.
All-rounder Axar Patel, who was kept on standby in the team selected for the tournament, has been included in the main team in place of Jadeja.
Jadeja shared a 52-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Hardik Pandya against Pakistan.
With the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes in 29 balls, he had taken the valuable innings of 35 runs to win the team.
It was not Jadeja’s turn to bat against Hong Kong. While bowling 4 overs, took 1 wicket for 15 runs.
