India on High Alert: Pakistan-Bangladesh Military Collaboration Raises Concerns
India on High Alert: India criticizes Pakistan for cross-border terrorism and highlights the importance of fencing the India-Bangladesh border.
‘Will take appropriate steps for the security of the country’, India’s strong message on Pakistan-Bangladesh military nexus. India on Friday gave a very strong message about the way the interim government of Mohammad Yunus of Bangladesh is engaged in military nexus with Pakistan. India has said that it is keeping an eye on all the activities happening around the country and is ready to take whatever appropriate steps are required for the security of the country.
The special thing is that this statement of India came when a high-level team of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI visited Bangladesh this week. Whereas, just ten days ago, a team led by Bangladesh’s senior army officer Lieutenant General SM Kamrul visited Pakistan.
India’s eye on the surrounding activities
Talks are also going on about starting military exercises between the two countries and Pakistan Army training the Bangladesh Army. When Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal was asked about this, he answered that we keep a close eye on all the activities happening around India in the context of national interest.
Randhir Jaiswal said in the context of barbed wire being installed on the India-Bangladesh border that India is doing this work based on the agreement made earlier with Bangladesh. This agreement was made so that we can make our border crime-free and the people of both countries get convenience. We believe that the Bangladesh government should take it positively.
India on High Alert: Bangladesh is opposing the fencing
It is worth noting that the interim government of Bangladesh is also opposing the work of Indian security agencies to install barbed wire fencing and is also trying to obstruct it. Indian diplomatic sources say that we will have to wait to see how the relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan move forward.
There is talk about increasing military contact between the two countries, but it has to be seen what steps are taken on the ground. By the way, the Bangladesh Army has also had a very good relationship with India. Bangladesh has not yet indicated that it wants to end these relations. Also, it remains to be seen whether China plays any role in this matter or not.
Will Bangladesh go with China and Pakistan?
China and Pakistan already have very close military contacts. Will Bangladesh also be included in this? India will formulate its further strategy only after the situation becomes clear on all these issues. When former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina came to India in July 2024, there was an agreement between the two countries to strengthen military ties rapidly.
India on High Alert: Pakistan promotes terrorism
Call for strict action from Pakistan on terrorism According to a leading news agency, India has strongly criticized Pakistan for supporting terrorism. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that the whole world knows who is promoting terrorism.
Everyone knows that there are countries responsible for cross-border terrorism and India calls on Pakistan to take strict action to stop cross-border terrorism. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that when terrorist attacks happen in India, where do they come from, we all know the origin and root of cross-border terrorism.
At the same time, regarding the visit of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri to China, Jaiswal said that during the visit on 26 and 27 January, Misri will meet the Deputy Minister of China, and all areas of bilateral interests between the two countries will be discussed.
