India-Bangladesh border stirs again, militants attacked, one jawan seriously injured: Tripura.

A BSF jawan was seriously injured in a fierce encounter on Friday with suspected militants of the banned militant outfit National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) on the Indo-Bangladesh border in the Kanchanpur subdivision of North Tripura.

The concerned officials gave this information. He said the injured jawan has been identified as Girish Kumar who is posted in the 145th Battalion of BSF. He has been airlifted and taken for treatment.

Officials said a BSF team was engaged in Operation Suprematism in the Seema-II border outpost area of ​​Kanchanpur sub-division when the firing started from the Bangladesh border side.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Kumar K told the news agency, “A group of heavily armed terrorists opened fire on BSF jawans from Jupui area of ​​hilly Rangamati district of Bangladesh.”

SP Kumar, who was present at the spot, said, “In this operation, a BSF jawan got four bullets.”

He said the terrorists could not do much harm to us because they were fought with mutual understanding among the soldiers.

Security has been beefed up along the India-Bangladesh border following the incident, the official said.

The work of increasing the impact on the area is going on very fast. We will discuss this issue with Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) for necessary action.

It is known that earlier this month, two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans including a sub-inspector were ambushed by NLFT militants on the Indo-Bangladesh international border in Tripura.

In this encounter, Sub-Inspector Baru Singh and Constable Raj Kumar died after being seriously injured. Not only this, the militants fled with the weapons of the martyred soldiers.
