India achieved a new milestone in the fight against the COVID, 60 percent of India’s population fully immunized: Health Minister Mandaviya.

The government on Thursday said that India achieved a new milestone in the fight against the COVID pandemic as more than 60 percent of the total eligible population has now been given both doses of vaccines.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya lauded public health workers, medical professionals, and citizens across the country for making this achievement possible.

Mandaviya tweeted, ‘Creating new records! Congratulations India.

In the same tweet, he said, ‘With the help of public participation and dedicated efforts of our health workers, more than 60% of the eligible population has now been fully vaccinated.’

Meanwhile, as per the Health Ministry’s report, till 7 am on Thursday, 70,17,671 vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage to over 139.70 crores.

236 cases of Omicron variant reported in 15 states of the country, Center provided more than 147 crore doses

So far, a total of 236 cases of Omicron, a new variant of the coronavirus, have been reported in the country. So far, its cases have been reported in 15 states of the country.

Most of its cases have been reported in Delhi. It is followed by Maharashtra’s number. The case of this variant has also come to the fore in Haryana.

The number of its cases in Tamil Nadu has increased to 34. Today PM Modi is also going to hold a review meeting to take stock of the situation arising out of this variant.

According to the Union Health Ministry, more than 60 percent of the eligible population in India has been fully vaccinated.
