The Home Minister is assessing the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra at the Home Ministry located in North Block.

According to the news agency, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey and Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla along with other top officials are participating in the meeting.

News agency sources said that Shah is likely to be apprised of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The deployment of forces along the International Border and Line of Control, infiltration attempts, the status of ongoing anti-terrorism operations, and the strength of active terrorists.

Shah may give broad guidelines about the immediate action to be taken by the security agencies in line with the Prime Minister’s instructions.

Shah had expressed concern over the recent terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. A major security plan can be made regarding this today.

Terrorist attacks at four places.

Let us tell you that since June 9, terrorist attacks have taken place at four places in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda.

Nine pilgrims were killed in this attack, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was martyred, a civilian was injured and at least seven security personnel were injured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the terror incidents.
