Health Minister of Karnataka raised questions on WHO figures of deaths due to corona in India, said – we stick to our numbers.

A report of the global health body World Health Organization (WHO) came recently, in which the death toll due to corona in India has been reported as 47 lakh.

After which a dispute started on this. WHO claims that the death toll from corona in India is 47 lakh, not 5 lakh.

but in the midst of this controversy, Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar on Friday alleged that the World Health Organization (WHO) said without any scientific evidence and rational reasoning.

In India, the number of deaths due to COVID has been recorded at 47 lakhs. This number is not the actual number of deaths due to corona.

Scientifically recorded every death in India.

Health Minister K Sudhakar said that every death in this country has been scientifically recorded. He further said that every death in India is recorded in the most authentic way.

Talking to the media, he said, ‘WHO has presented its report in a baseless manner without any scientific evidence and rationale. The figures given in this are not actual numbers.

In India, this report has been criticized as wrong on many levels.

Health Minister K Sudhakar said, ‘We stand by our numbers because India has presented its data to the country and the world on a scientific basis only.

CCHFW also objected to this figure.

Earlier on Friday, a resolution was passed at the conference of the Central Council for Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW), strongly objecting to the WHO’s estimate of 4.7 million COVID-19 deaths in India.

The WHO matter regarding COVID-19 deaths was taken up during the conference chaired by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya at the 14th  CCHFW in Kevadia, Gujarat.

The resolution was passed by about 20 health ministers who were present at the CCHFW.

WHO estimates ‘erroneous.’

Significantly, in the WHO report, the number of deaths due to corona in India has been told to be more than 47 lakhs.

India has termed this report of the Global Health Agency as flawed and said that this estimate of WHO is unacceptable for India.

Let us tell you that India has strongly objected to the use of mathematical models by the WHO to present higher mortality estimates related to coronavirus and said that authentic data is available.

Citing estimates of higher mortality rates, the health ministry said in a statement that the validity and robustness of the models used and the methodology of data collection are questionable.
