Gujarat Assembly Election 2022: Hindutva imprint in BJP’s list, this time also no Muslim face.

The imprint of Hindutva is clearly visible on the BJP’s list of 160 candidates for the Gujarat Assembly elections.

The party has given tickets to the old leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Swaminarayan sect Vadtal Dham, Patidar Kuldevi Trust Khodaldham, Umiyadham people to save its 35 to 40 seats in this election.

DK Swami has got the ticket from Jambusar who runs the Gurukul. This seat is in the possession of Congress.

Anirudh Dave, the nephew of the late Anant Dave, who was once the face of VHP in Kutch, has got a ticket from Mandvi, VHP leader Akshay Patel from Karjan.

There was speculation about Khodaldham chief trustee Naresh Patel joining the Congress and becoming the chief ministerial face, but his close trustee Ramesh Tilala has got the ticket from Rajkot South.

Naresh Patel had recently met Union Minister Shah in Ahmedabad and recommended his ticket. Janakbhai Talaviya, the trustee of Umiyadham Amreli, has been given a ticket from Lathi’s seat.

Senior BJP workers are also alleging that out of the 160 candidates, a large number of leaders are imported from the Congress.

Ticket to the Samadhi of Shankar Singh Vaghela.

Balwant Singh Rajput, a former MLA of Shankar Singh Vaghela, who resigned from the Congress and joined the BJP in August 2017, was fielded by the BJP against Congress veteran Ahmed Patel in the Rajya Sabha but lost in a close contest.

Balwant has become the Leader of the Opposition by winning the election on a Congress ticket from Sidhpur. He has been dropped from this seat.

Gujarat Assembly Election 2022: Former BJYM president Amit Thakar also made the candidate.

Amit Thakar, former national president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, has got a ticket from Ahmedabad’s Vejalpur seat.

Thakar came into the limelight for the first time from the case of misbehavior with social worker Medha Patkar.

No Muslim face from BJP in Gujarat.

Since the first BJP government was formed in March 1995 under the leadership of Keshubhai Patel, BJP has not given a ticket to any Muslim face.

Be it the assembly elections of 2002, 2007, 2012, and 2017 or the Lok Sabha elections of 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019, not a single Muslim face could become a BJP candidate.

There are three Muslim faces in the assembly. Among them is Gyasuddin Sheikh from Ahmedabad’s Dariyapur seat, Imran Khedawala from Jamalpur Khadia, and Mou Javid Pirzada from Wankaner in Morbi.
