General Ananthanarayan Is New Chief Of Rising Star Corps

General Ananthanarayan takes over command of Rising Star Corps: Jammu Kashmir.

Lieutenant General PN Ananthanarayan has taken over the responsibility of the Corps Commander of the Rising Star Corps of the Western Command of the Army, which is responsible for the security of the International Border in Jammu Division.

The Tiger Division of the Rising Star Corps is fully supporting the Border Security Force in ensuring the security of the international border in the district along with the city of Jammu.

Lieutenant General Ananthanarayan commanded the Corps from Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi at the Corps Headquarters Yola Camp.

Lieutenant General Ananthanarayan, who took over as the sixteenth corps commander of the Rising Star Corps, has held several key posts in the army.

The corps commander, a student of the NDA, joined the Army’s 8 Gorkha Rifles in December 1984 as a youth officer.

During his 36-year tenure, he has also commanded the Infantry Division, which guards the Line of Actual Control with China.

He has also held several other important responsibilities with the Northern Command Headquarters of the Army.

The new corps commander has done a defense service staff course, a higher commander course as well as many important courses in military management.

He was also awarded the Army Medal in the year 2019 for his remarkable service. Meanwhile, before taking up the new responsibility, Lieutenant General Ananthanarayan was also the Commandant of Infantry School Maui.

Lieutenant General Ananthanarayan will soon visit Jammu to take stock of the security situation in the region after Rising Star Kaar takes over as the GOC.

Rising Star Corps military units in Jammu are stationed in the second round to protect the international border.

Heroin, AK-47 rifles and bullets recovered from Sri Lankan boat, Coastguard expedition near Lakshadweep

The Indian Coast Guard recovered a large amount of heroin from a Sri Lankan boat in a large expedition near Lakshadweep on 15 March.

Coast Guard Director General Krishnaswamy Natarajan said the Coast Guard recovered bullets, heroin and AK-47 rifles from a large boat in an operation close to the island of Minicoy.

He said that we had received intelligence input about a boat of foreign origin involved in drug trafficking in the Arabian Sea.
