Garbine Muguruza Won The Dubai Tennis Championship

Garbine Muguruza won the Dubai Tennis Championship, beating Barbara Krejcikova badly: Dubai Tennis Championship.

Garbine Muguruza defeated Barbara Krejcikova in straight sets in the final of the Dubai Tennis Championship, ending a nearly two-year title drought.

Spain’s former world number one and ninth seed Muguruza defeated the Czech Republic doubles specialist 7-6, 6-3. This is Muguruza’s first title win since winning the title in Monterrey in April 2019.

This is the eighth singles title of Muguruza’s career including two Grand Slam titles in 2016 as Roland Garren and Wimbledon in 2017.

Basilashvili wins Qatar Open.

Nikoloz Basilashvili won the fourth ATP title by defeating Roberto Batista Agut in the final of the Qatar Open Tennis Tournament. Jaya’s Basilashvili defeated Batista Agut 7-6, 6-2 in 90 minutes in straight sets.

Basilashvili had won just two matches in the last 16 matches before this tournament, but here he managed to defeat former world number one Roger Federer after saving match points in the quarter-finals.

Medvedev faces Horbert.

Top seed Denil Medvedev will face unseeded Pierre-Hughes Herbert in the final of Open 13 for the 10th title of his career.

Medvedev, a two-time winner of the Grand Slam title, easily reached the final due to injury to qualifier player Matthew Ebden in the semi-finals.

When Abden decided to withdraw from the match, Medvedev was leading 6-4, 3–0. Medvedev will move up to second place in the rankings next week.

To win the title, he will face the challenge of 93rd ranked world champion Herbert. He has won four Grand Slams in doubles but has not won any major tournament in singles.

Herbert defeated fourth-seeded Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-2 in the semi-finals. He had also defeated second-seeded Stephanos Sitsipas on Friday.

Bhavani Devi became the first Indian swordsman to qualify for the Olympics, created history.
