Speaking at the time, Edappadi Palanisamy said that emergency law has been enacted in Tamil Nadu to ban online gambling.
The case was adjourned to June. The case was taken up on 03.08.2021. The law passed by the AIADMK government was repealed.
It was then informed that the Minister of Law will take immediate action after consulting with legal experts. But so far no action has been taken.
The DMK government has been delaying the period for more than 100 days without taking any action. Many students have committed suicide through online gambling.
Responding to this, Minister Raghupathi said that the Prime Minister had no alternative but to ban gambling like online rummy.
The law was hastily introduced in the AIADMK regime. The High Court dismissed the case on the ground that there were no indications as to why the Act was introduced.
We have gone to the Supreme Court to uphold the law brought by the AIADMK government.
With the laws in force, the DMK government is taking appropriate action to save the people. He said he was hopeful of getting a good verdict in the Supreme Court.
